An Outdoor Adventure Program in Cuyahoga River Whitewater
The Cuyahoga River Olympics (CRO) is a premier Corporate Motivation event with high action and adventure set in chaotic Cuyahoga River Whitewater. What makes this event unique is the series of challenges that are pre-designed to accentuate team performance. The CRO will involve teams of six to eight members per small raft. In addition to navigating the three to eight miles of the Cuyahoga River, including Class II-III whitewater, each team must work together to pilot a pre-set series of challenges. These challenges may include cross river eddies, upstream ferries, timed obstacle courses, timed flip drills, “Hit the Hole” challenges, simulated river rescues and downriver races.
At the outset of the CRO, senior CMI staff members prepare the teams with safety and river techniques required to successfully navigate the whitewater challenges. Emphasis is placed on the participants to learn, adapt and implement new skills as they progress down the river. The progression of challenges requires participants to integrate individual and team skills, while continually improving process and expanding their comfort zone. Additional safety kayakers can monitor progress, safety and scoring of the events.
Depending on the specific program design, Corporate Motivation will present a variety of team and individual development models and applications to be revisited throughout the event. The CRO is typically a collaborative, yet competitive event. Teams are judged on the basis of effectiveness (task completion) and efficiency (timeliness) and, of course, style! This event combines leadership, teamwork, and learning for an unforgettable adventure!
